This past week, we were thrilled to welcome 150 trademark professionals to our sold-out event in midtown Manhattan: Alt Legal & Corsearch Live! Four years ago this week, we intended to host our first in-person event in Brooklyn, New York. But in March 2020, life had other plans, and the pandemic led us to switch gears. We pivoted to host Alt Legal Connect as a virtual conference, offering a truly unique experience for trademark professionals to learn and come together. Over the past four years, we’ve hosted Alt Legal Connect remotely multiple times, welcoming hundreds of like-minded, forwarding-thinking trademark professionals. We were excited to extend the success of our virtual format to our first in-person conference.
Over these four years, the Alt Legal Community has not only survived but thrived, as has our company and our culture of innovation. Since 2020, we kept innovating and improving our offerings by enhancing our global trademark docketing automation, introducing Alt Legal Trademark Protection—our USPTO watch and monitoring service— and acquiring Towergate’s 2(d) Citation Watch service, and TM Cloud’s docketing business to bring Alt Legal to a wider audience.
And that leads us to March 2024, when we paired up with our friends at Corsearch to bring you Alt Legal & Corsearch Live! We enjoyed an outstanding afternoon of networking and CLE sessions led by exceptional leaders in the IP industry including:
- Cents and Sensibility: Practical approaches to running a lean in-house trademark team – Presented by Sofya Nadgorny (Warner Music Group), Shama Elliott, Stacey Foltz Stark (Estée Lauder), and Stephanie Grenald (recently of Amazon).
- The AI Brandwagon: Why AI is becoming so popular for trademark practice – Presented by Matt Rubin (Corsearch), Sam Kilb (Jayaram Law), and Jessica Neer McDonald (Neer McD).
- AI on the Prize: Ethical considerations for emerging technologies – Presented by Emil Ali (McCabe Ali and former USPTO OED attorney).
