How Law School Clinics Benefit from Alt Legal

Law school clinics that provide IP legal guidance to entrepreneurs and small businesses have adopted Alt Legal IP Docketing Software to support their educational and clinical programs. Alt Legal provides free access, ongoing training, as well as informational sessions from senior Alt Legal leadership during the semester and beyond.

Clinic students benefit from Alt Legal’s innovative features including:

  • USPTO TEAS filing tools. Our trademark intake form helps students learn what questions to ask an applicant and to easily collect the information for filing. Plus, our direct connection to the USPTO allows students to auto-fill the TEAS form and easily file the application.
  • Automated deadline management. Alt Legal automatically populates data and calculates deadlines, helping  students learn accurate docketing practices and understand the trademark prosecution process. Additionally, Alt Legal’s daily emails and calendar sync ensure that students know about upcoming deadlines without having to even review a docket.
  • Unlimited client access. Alt Legal provides unlimited, complimentary third-party access, allowing clinic clients 24/7 read-only access to their dockets. Unlimited client access encourages student-client collaboration, helping them to develop their client relations skills.
