Views 2.0, Phase 1

Release Date: 10/27/2026

New Feature — Available to All Users

Dense reports shouldn’t take extra work to understand. Views 2.0 brings a redesigned data table with easier sorting, flexible column controls and conditional formatting, so the data that matters stands out the moment you open a report.

What It Is

Views 2.0 Phase 1 is a redesign of the main data table in Alt Legal. It gives you better tools to organize, sort and highlight your data, and puts the actions you use most within easy reach. It’s the first in a series of updates to make reporting in Alt Legal easier.

What You Can Do With It

  • Highlight what needs attention with conditional formatting. Under the new Report Options panel, set rules by matter type, field and condition, then choose a color from a recommended palette or a custom color picker. For example, you could flag deadlines due within the next few days. A live preview shows exactly how each rule will look before you save it.
  • Manage sorting more easily. A new Sort button lets you set and adjust all of your sort rules in one place and drag them into priority order. Column headers now show when a column is sorted, and each column’s menu shows its place in the priority (Sort #1, #2 and so on).
  • Control every column from its header. Each column now has an always-visible menu where you can sort, move the column to the start or end, pin it to the left or right, or hide it. You can bring hidden columns back at any time.
  • Keep key columns in view. Pinned columns stay in place while you scroll horizontally, so matter names, reference numbers or due dates never leave the screen.
  • Get to your most-used actions faster. The AI Assistant and Add Matter buttons now sit in the top header next to the search bar.
  • Work in a cleaner layout. Filters now live in the Report Options panel, and date format is a single setting for the whole report instead of a per-column choice. Printing is now in the Export menu, and pagination sits at the bottom of the Table, Stacked and Entries views.

Why It Matters

IP professionals rely on reports for deadline reviews, client updates and portfolio audits, and those reports often run to hundreds of rows across many jurisdictions. When every row looks the same, important items are easy to miss and getting to the right view takes manual work.

Views 2.0 changes that. Conditional formatting brings urgent deadlines and key statuses to the surface automatically. Easier sorting, column controls and pinned columns let you arrange your data the way you think about it. Faster access to the AI Assistant and Add Matter keeps your workflow moving.
