Updated Feature
Your deadlines don’t follow a single timezone — and now your notification emails don’t have to either.
What It Is
Notification emails in Alt Legal can now be delivered according to each user’s individual timezone, so the timing of your alerts reflects the workday that actually matters to you. Firms and companies can also set an organization-wide timezone default, giving admins a consistent baseline while still allowing individual users the flexibility to personalize their own preferences.
What You Can Do With It
- Set a firm-wide default. Admins can establish a default timezone at the organization level, ensuring consistent notification timing across the team without requiring every user to configure their own settings.
- Personalize at the user level. Individual users can set their own preferred timezone, overriding the firm default to match their local workday — ideal for distributed teams and global firms.
- Receive notifications when they’re relevant. Alerts arrive at the right time for each recipient, so time-sensitive deadline reminders land in the morning when your day begins — not in the middle of the night.
Why It Matters to IP Professionals
IP teams are increasingly global, with attorneys, paralegals, and clients spread across time zones — but notification emails have historically arrived on a one-size-fits-all schedule. A deadline reminder that lands at 2 AM is easy to miss and hard to act on. With timezone-aware notifications, every member of your team receives alerts when they’re positioned to respond, reducing the risk of missed deadlines and keeping your docket running smoothly no matter where your team is located.
