AI Filtering Assistant

Release Date: 4/28/2026

New Optional Feature

Searching for the right data shouldn’t feel like a puzzle. That’s why we built the AI Filtering Assistant — a smarter, faster way to slice through your docket without manually hunting down every filter.

What It Is

The AI Filtering Assistant is an optional, natural language filtering tool built directly into Alt Legal. Instead of toggling through menus and dropdowns, you simply type what you’re looking for — and the assistant does the filtering work for you. Ask for “All Trademarks in South America” and the relevant jurisdictions and matter type filters are automatically applied.

What You Can Do With It

  • Ask in plain English. Type a request like “Patent filings in the EU from the last 90 days” or “All active matters in Asia” and watch the filters populate in real time.
  • Work within your current report. Results always surface within the report type you’re already in — no redirects, no context switching – or ask the Assistant to change your report type too.
  • Layer your criteria naturally. Combine matter type, jurisdiction, status, and more in a single prompt without building complex filter chains by hand.
  • Opt in on your terms. The feature is entirely optional and can be enabled or disabled based on your IT and security preferences.

Why It Matters

Your docket doesn’t wait, and neither should you. IP professionals manage portfolios that span dozens of jurisdictions, matter types, and deadlines — and getting to the right view of that data has always required knowing exactly which filters to reach for. The AI Filtering Assistant removes that friction. Whether you’re preparing a client report, auditing a regional portfolio, or responding to a quick question from counsel, you can get to precisely the data you need in moments — no filter expertise required. It’s the same powerful Alt Legal data, now accessible in the language you already speak.
