This year’s TMAE Summit will include an additional day of events to provide attendees with more opportunities to expand their skills and make meaningful connections. Day 2 of the TMAE Summit is available for an additional fee and will feature a morning of interactive workshops where attendees will participate in small groups, focusing on a particular topic, and leaving with actionable work product that they can apply at their offices. Following the morning workshops and networking, we’ll head downtown for a tour of the Brooklyn Bridge, where our expert guides will lead us on a stroll across the iconic NYC landmark.`
Workshop Description
Every trademark docket reflects years of portfolio growth and contributions from multiple stakeholders. As information flows between clients, law firms, foreign associates, and docketing teams, differences in reporting practices and data management can gradually create inconsistencies that are difficult to spot during day-to-day portfolio management.
In this hands-on workshop, Diana Guydo of FisherBroyles will walk participants through the process of auditing a trademark docket, including what to review, common issues to watch for, and practical techniques for evaluating portfolio data. Participants will then have an opportunity to apply those concepts and practice the audit process themselves. Attendees will work through topics including:
- Establishing the scope and objectives of a docket audit
- Identifying common discrepancies, gaps, and data-quality issues
- Reviewing records for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Practicing auditing trademark dockets and determining next steps
- Creating systems for auditing data when onboarding new clients
