Alt Legal, Com Laude, and Seed IP Webinar:Right Side of the Dot: Claiming Your Brand’s Place in the Next TLD Round

3 min read

This webinar was recorded on July 24, 2025.

The internet’s name space is about to expand—big time. In April 2026, ICANN will open a new application window for Top Level Domains (TLDs), giving brand owners a rare opportunity to own the entire TLD and join the likes of .nike, .amazon, and .canon, and more. For less than the cost of a major ad campaign, a dotBrand lets you set the rules, enforce policies, and secure your company’s identity.

Join Alt Legal, Com Laude, and Seed IP for a webinar, “Right Side of the Dot: Claiming Your Brand’s Place in the Next TLD Round.” During this webinar, domain experts Ken Taylor (Com Laude) and Russ Pangborn (Seed IP) explain what dotBrands are, why they matter, and how legal teams can help companies prepare for the next round. The speakers especially address:

  • What a dotBrand domain means for digital control, security, and customer experience
  • How companies have used dotBrands to build loyalty, streamline navigation, and launch products
  • Why now is the time to act—and why this opportunity might not come again
  • What legal teams should know about eligibility, application timelines, and risks
  • How to talk with internal stakeholders about the strategic value of dotBrands
