Alt Legal WebinarCease and Coexist: Turning disputes into effective coexistence agreements

Alt Legal Team | August 14, 2025
2 min read

This webinar was recorded on October 9, 2025.

In a crowded marketplace, overlapping trademarks are increasingly common—especially in today’s global economy. Without clear ground rules, these conflicts can escalate quickly, so well‑crafted coexistence agreements will offer brands a practical path to peaceful overlap.

Join Alt Legal for a webinar where Lindsey Utrata (Counsel, Latham & Watkins) explores the strategic, legal, and practical dimensions of trademark coexistence agreements, offering insights into when they make sense and when they don’t, how to draft them effectively, and the risks to watch out for. Attendees will gain a solid understanding of:

  • The legal foundation for coexistence agreements under U.S. trademark law
  • Key provisions to include—and avoid—in a well‑drafted agreement
  • Real‑world case studies where coexistence will have succeeded (and failed)
  • Considerations for enforcement, breach, termination, and international coexistence
  • How to advise clients or business teams on managing brand overlap with minimal conflict
